Nanami Jinnai:


Jinnai's younger sister, though she's sure one of them was adopted, given their personalities. She is extremely money-oriented, and is successful in whatever form of business she takes on/creates, particularly in the making of food. Though she, and for that matter Makoto, are interested in each other at the start of the series, being best friends for a long time, they "haven't discussed" going steady.

Nanami is with Fujisawa, serving him one of her box lunches, when they are transported to El Hazard, finding herself alone in the desert where Earth money is worth no more than tissue paper. Of course this doesn't stop her, she proceeds to go into business and eventually ends up working at the Hot Springs of Arliman, a retreat of sorts for the many Priestesses of El Hazard. It is there that she meets up with Makoto and Fujisawa and discovers her ability, seeing through deceptions and illusions, when an assassin of the blue-skinned Shadow Nation, disguised as a beautiful woman, tries to kill Makoto.

Aside from that, Nanami doesn't really contribute much to the series, aside from discovering the presence of Galus and guiding Makoto in the fight against him. She also seems to be the most likely convert to Alielle and Fatora's lifestyle, as she was accepting of Alielle's clingy nature by the end of the series.
