Ifurita smiled nervously, her hand holding the thing in such a way that made it obvious that it was her first time playing the game. Her lilac and gold silk yukata pooled around her ankles as she kneeled down, the fabric billowing from the summer breeze and exposing pale, slender legs. "So all I have to do is pick as many goldfish as I can?" "Don't you worry, little lady," the vendor answered. "Not many people get anything on their first try." Ifurita took a deep breath and leaned over, her eyes narrowing for a moment before her hands became a blur. Makoto and the vendor's mouths gaped open in surprise as she triumphantly held up a bowl filled with all the fishes mere seconds later. Makoto swallowed hard. "A-are you sure this is your first time playing this?" "Of course. I simply used a technique I learned ten thousand years. . ." She was cut off in mid-sentence as Makoto clapped a hand over her mouth. He looked over at the twitching vendor on the ground and sighed in relief when the man didn't appear to have heard Ifurita's slip. "Why don't we let him keep most of the fishes? I'm sure there's a kid out there who'd like to win something, too." Ifurita nodded and stood up, sending Makoto to stumble towards the empty tank. Her hand shot out and caught the lapel of his green shirt, and she effortlessly lifted him up to move him a safe distance away. He smiled, mumbling, "Thanks" before leading her off to find another booth to explore. They admired the numerous paper lanterns on the way and tried their best to avoid the children running wildly all around them. The gay atmosphere ceased minutes later when drops of rain began to fall down, sending the fairgoers to scatter like ants discovered in a picnic. Makoto took a hold of Ifurita's hand and led her towards one of the bright colored tents. To his dismay, they were all crowded with people also trying not to get soaked by the unexpected deluge, and both were left to stand in the middle of the field with him looking around helplessly. Makoto felt a tug on his arm, and he smiled as he caught the hazy outline of Ifurita waving her arms around, sending the bag of goldfish on her left hand to swing crazily. He leaned closer to catch what she was saying, but only heard the sound of raindrops striking the taut plastic tents. He gave up and was about to pull away to try another search for a temporary shelter when the hazy outline metamorphosed into a very wet Ifurita. Makoto smiled as he brushed away the violet lock of hair obscuring her alabaster face, sending a current of electricity to pass from where they touched. Ifurita smiled again in that way that never failed to get his heart pounding like a jackhammer before she unexpectedly closed in on the remaining distance between them to give him a kiss. Her lips was warm and soft, just like he knew it would be. Arousal quickly replaced surprise when he saw her tongue flick out to catch the droplet of water falling down his cheek. Makoto decided to return the favor by licking the ones on her nose, her ear, her lips. He pulled back momentarily to see the surprised smile on her face, then he leaned back in to kiss her again. He heard her moan as he kissed down her neck, sending all his blood to run south. She ran a hand through his hair and down to his neck, massaging the sensitive spot there. He moaned in response, going back up for another kiss on the lips. Makoto licked her bottom lip before parting her mouth with his own, his tongue plunging down to meet hers. He heard her moan again, the arm around her waist tightening as he tried to get even closer to her. She tasted and smelled like the mochi balls they had eaten earlier. In his opinion, though, it tasted much better on her. Ifurita's tongue coiled around his, a snake enticing him to taste the forbidden fruit. He gladly gave in, for Eden could never match the feeling of euphoria from her kiss. Makoto's hand roamed down to the sash of her yukata with the intent of tugging it off when a child, no older than four, loudly asked, "Mommy, what are they doing?" He froze, his hand still held up in midair. He suddenly recalled where they were and began to pull away. Unfortunately for him, Ifurita either didn't hear the little girl or didn't care. She kept kissing him with the same abandon she did earlier. "Ifurita. . . go. . ." he mumbled incoherently. She responded by tugging the sleeve of his shirt aside and biting his shoulder lightly. He let out another ragged breath and for a moment forgot what it was he was saying. Another glimpse of the child reminded him, and he again tried to tell Ifurita that they had to go. ". . . we. . ." Damn. That was even worse that the last time. The way she was pressed against his lower body was just way too distracting. "Ifurita. . ." Makoto reluctantly pushed her away, thinking that this sacrifice should at least earn him a small shrine somewhere for his kami-like display of will power. A *huge* shrine, he amended as he caught sight of Ifurita's flushed cheeks, her lips slightly swollen from the recent kisses. She reached out for his hand. He backed away, knowing that it wouldn't take much for him to lose his tenuous hold on his self- control. Instead, he smiled at her to show her that he really didn't want to pull away. To his relief, Ifurita smiled back, telling him that she understood. Makoto didn't know how long they stood there, both trying to catch their breaths as the rain continued to sprinkle droplets of water on them. He waited until he was sure her touch wouldn't prompt an embarrassing reaction before he reached out for her with shaking hands. Then he led them home where they started all over again. END. ********************************************************************** Author's Notes: Sigh. I really tried to fulfill a friend's request and write that lemon she's been bugging me to write; unfortunately, I can't get past the same writer's block that I got when I wrote that Shin KOR lime fic. Who knew lemons were so hard to write? Please send feedback. This isn't what I usually write, and I need all the help that I can get.
